Di & Bo Wedding at Garden Cafe | Dallas, TX

09.24.2017

How they met….

Di and Bo are from China and met when they came to school at The University of Texas at Dallas to get their master degrees in accounting.  They had the same host family who provided temporary lodging for them.  The first day Di met Bo was at the host family’s house in 2012 and they became friends right away.  They started dating in 2014 and Bo proposed before Christmas in 2016.  He decorated her bedroom with balloons and roses before she got off work and the ring was set in a heart made with rose petals on her bed.

Di and Bo's romantic wedding at the Garden Cafe incorporated friends, family and their parents traveled all the way from China to be there for the nuptials. Di basically planned their wedding herself but received help on the day of the wedding with setup from Miranda, coordinator with Earthling Events.  Di was escorted down the aisle by her father through multiple archways covered in greenery through the garden to the alter. The decor was romantic and whimsical including a beautiful ribbon and flower alter in pastel pink, green and creams. The brides's DIY projects included taking classes and gathering ideas from Pinterest for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and center pieces and purchased all materials from her hometown in China. Before the ceremony, guest lined up to take a photo using an instant photo camera and decorate a page in the guest album. Something the couple will cherish forever.  Following the ceremony, reception dinner was served under the stars in the garden.  Cake was a trendy translucent cake, or almost naked cake which is a blend of two styles and ideal for informal celebration.  The confection was lightly iced in buttercream and topped with fresh flowers.  At the end of the night, Di and Bo gave parting gifts to all their guests.  I was honored to be apart of their special day and capture all the sweet moments between these two!
